Sophie Haines is ESRC Future Research Leaders Fellow at the Institute for Science, Innovation and Society, University of Oxford. She holds a PhD in anthropology from University College London, and has worked as a parliamentary researcher in the UK House of Commons.

Sophie’s research focuses on environmental knowledge and decision-making in contexts of socio-ecological change. She has explored perceptions of the environment, changing livelihoods, infrastructure development, and the role of scientific predictions for resource/hazard management in Belize, Kenya and the UK. Her current project examines science-led watershed management in Belize.
