Visual and Multimodal Anthropology

Deadline: 17th of January 2025

The RAI Film Festival conference will be held online from 29 April – 2 May 2025. We invite practitioners and artists to submit proposals to present their multimodal work-in-progress for feedback. This opportunity is open to creators at any stage of production—whether in pre-production, production, or post-production.

We are looking for a range of digital media, sound, illustration, web-based projects, and other creative forms. This is an opportunity to receive feedback, reflect on challenges, and connect with a supportive community of peers and experts.

Selected participants will present their work to an expert from the RAI Film network, who will offer constructive, generative feedback. Each session will be moderated by RAI Film Festival directors, Hatty Bell and Stephen Hughes, and will be open to the wider festival audience.

Session Format

Each participant will have 30 minutes to present their work, followed by comments and feedback from the expert and peer discussion. The aim is to provide a creative and nurturing environment in which creators can benefit from both scholarly insight and practical expertise.

Submission Guidelines

In your proposal, please include:

  • A brief summary of your project
  • Information on what stage your project is at (pre-production, production, post-production)
  • A description of the specific aspects of your work you would like feedback on (e.g., editing, sound design, narrative structure, concept)
  • A link to a sample of your current project (e.g., website, images, sound, or video clips up to 5 minutes)
  • A paper can only be submitted once and only one paper can be submitted per person.
