Bequeathed to the RAI by Vice-Admiral Somerville in 1936, and delivered by H. Hudson in 1937. The Somerville Manuscript Committee was set up by Council of the RAI in 1937 to fulfil the intention of the bequest see RAI House Archive A70/1/9, A70/7/75-9 and Man 1937, Item 78.
All papers are handwritten unless stated otherwise. Some papers have been rearranged and annotated by H. Hudson.
Although some photographs are held in this collection, the remainder and a number of lantern slides are held in the RAI Photographic Collection.
