Photographs MS 442/9 - /12 were found in a paper wrapping entitled "Duplicate prints of which I have negatives 9/97".

The published works of all the subjects named in photograph MS 442/1 have been checked for drawings, plates and photographs. Where a match has been found, this has been noted in the cataloguing.

This collection was stored for many years before being catalogued and the wrappings bore the attribution "R.S. Rattray". It is a possibility that it was presented with the Rattray MS.
