We record with regret the death on Boxing Day 1978 of Dr Geoffrey Bushnell, FBA. Born in 1903, he was Curator of the Cambridge Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology from 1948 to 1970, Reader at the University in New World Archaeology from 1966 to 1970, and a Fellow of Corpus Christi College from 1963. His publications includes Archaeology of the Santa Elena Peninsula, SW Ecuador (1951) Peru in the Ancient Peoples and Places series (1956,1963), Ancient Arts of the Americas (1965) and The First Americans (1968). We hope to publish an Obituary in our next issue.
