What personal data does the RAI collect?
The data we routinely collect includes members’ names, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, interests and dates of birth. We collect this data directly from our members when they join the RAI.
For some of our members we may have additional information when they attend an RAI conference such as delegate registration, papers given or panels convened.
For Forensic Anthropology and Forensic & Expert Social Anthropology certification applicants we hold all details provided in the application form, as well as any and all documentation shared by the candidate for the purpose of supporting their application and/or examination(s).
What is this personal data used for?
We use members’ data for the administration of your membership, delivery of journals, the communication of information, and the organisation of events. We provide your data to the Wiley for their use as explained in the section below. We also provide some data to the Anthropology Library and Research Centre at the British Museum for their use as explained in the section below. We also provide some data to Rapidata for the processing of direct debit payments. Email addresses are also stored in Mailchimp for sending out emails to the members. We use a membership database system provided by NomadIT. Forensic Anthropologists’ and Expert Social Anthropologists’ data is used for the purpose of assessing applicants for certification or chartership.
